In the book 'The Giver', everyone's future is decided by the others. Either being released, or getting assigned a job when people turn 12. In my opinion, I wouldn't want my future to be decided by the others. I can do whatever I want in this free world, and to experience different things as I grow up. If my future was decided by the others, every one's talent, advantages, skills, knowledge, and unique styles would all be a waste. Like what the book said, it might be safer. But, you have to take risks in life many times. And if, our futures were decided by others, our world would be nothing different from Jonas'. Having no pain but having no joy at the same time. Having no colors or forgetting them, all those kinds of things. Letting your future be decided by others is almost the same thing as having no future like the capped people in 'The White Mountains', or robots. No one would like their future to be decided unless they are mad or something, and not if everyone is different and has their own styles, talents and dreams.

The White Mountains:The End is Here
As they reach the mountains, the characters settle on the mountains and live there. They are really happy to be there with a lot of freedom and hope. But, I'm sure life will start to get boring there with nothing to do on the white mountains, and they must have hard time looking for food, so they plan to go on an another journey. They head East, and they find their selves in another country. They go through a lot of dangers and some difficult situations, but they manage to get through those difficult situations. They keep traveling and at last, they suddenly meet a Tripod who picked them up and capped them right away. Beanpole forgot all of his ideas of great inventions, Henry goes back to his hometown, and Will goes to the city of the Tripods, to serve them, and live with Eloise. That's what I think it will happen.
I liked the book on some parts, but I did not like some parts. The parts I liked was the idea that it's set in the future but it makes reader think like it's set in the past, and the parts that they showed the city of the ancients. But I didn't like the part that it was too obvious, for example, they might have had some more difficult times through the journey to the White Mountains.

Power of Freedom
"The bitter thing was all the spirit, all the gallantry, was wasted. For even more than inferiors, they accepted and looked forward to being Capped. It was a part of becoming a knight, or of turning from a girl to lady. Thinking of this, I saw how good things could be meaningless in isolation. What value did courage have, without a free and challenging mind to direct it?" (p. 111)
I think freedom is the most important thing in our lives. This quote above shows how important freedom is, and what effect freedom has. Without freedom, we wil all be like robots with someone controling our minds, slaves, or prisoner. I think this whole book relates to freedom, because this book shows that without freedom, all the electronics, modern transportation, inventions, and valuable things have gone waste. Also, Will travels a long way to gain freedom. The chapter 'Castle of the Red Tower' also shows how important freedom is. Every people in France wanted to be capped, and the book shows how pleased Eloise was, when she was sent to serve the tripods forever. Also it clearly shows that Will, Henry and Beanpole valued freedom more than their lives, and courage was the key to the whit mountains. Without courage, they couldn't have even thought about setting a journey to the white mountains. But people in France, just followed everything what the tripods and the ones who were capped said and did like a robot, wasting their courage they were given as they were born, and ruining their entire life. Will, the main character, decides to leave the castle, and fight for freedom when he hears that Eloise has to serve the Tripods fr ever. Like this, without freedom, people can't love each other. The chapter 'Castle of the Red Tower' and what I wrote above describes how important 'FREEDOM' is.

To Make the Listener Question... or Create Tension...
The International School of Kuala Lumpur provides an exceptional education that challenges each student to develop the (SILENCE) attitudes, skills, knowledge and understanding to become a highly successful, spirited, socially responsible global citizen.
I think putting silence after "ISKL provides an exceptional education that challenges each student to develop the" because people listening, would question,'What will ISKL challenge each student to develop?'. The reader is saying until 'to develop the' and right before they just give what they're challenging eac student to develop, and keep it to te readr, himself, and make the listener wait, which creates tension(question) for the listener.

Kind of a Bad Holiday
I went to Korea for the holiday. Well, most of the thing I did in Korea was GAMES. The reason is, because Korea's computer is AMAZINGLY FAST! When I click something, the site comes out in about 0.7 seconds(I didn't time it though). Most of the games I did was the games that I had to download a long time to play it. In Malaysia, it would take 2~3 days to download a game. But in Korea, it took me 10~20 minutes only. 'YEAH! It's like heaven here!" But I didn't only play games there, I also met my relatives.
After spending 1 week in Korea, I flew over to Japan which my sister wanted to go(and I didn't want to go). We stayed in a very small hotel. Well, the building itself was big, but the rooms were really, really small. And, in Japan, everything is EXPENSIVE! In Japan, we went to the Tokyo Disneyland. It could have been fun, but I saw a sign and freaked out. It said, 'You have to wait about 70 minutes to ride'. So, I went to another one, and freaked out even more! '120 minutes....'. So, we decided to go to the 70 minutes one, and we finally rode it. And then I found out that there isn't much rides that are fast! So Disneyland wasn't very fun also, and I only rode 3 rides.
The only thing good in Japan was shopping. Actually I really don't like shopping, but in Japan there were many creative inventions or cool stationaries. After visiting Japan, we came back to Korea, and it was snowing a lot in Korea, so I called over some of my friends in Korea, and had a snowball fight. So overall, I had a bit bad holiday, and I'm happy to be back in Malaysia, and ISKL.

2 Goals For New Year
I have to goals for new year.
One is that I need to be more self-confident while I'm presenting somethig to the class. The reason is because my lips shake whenever I'm presenting something to the class because I get nevous. That is a big disadvantage for me. To be more self-confident, I'll need to practice telling stories, presenting something or saying things in front of the class. Also, I think I need to be more sociable. The reason is if I know all the people in my class very well, I wouldn't be nervous because I know them well, and it's easier to tell things to people who I know very well, than the people who I don't know very well.
Another goal is getting higher grades! I was surprised to see the low grades I've got. So, my goal is to get at least A on all subjects. To do that, I'll turn in the homeworks I got on the right due date, listen well to what teachers say,and kind of stop the foolling around. I think the 'fooling around' is the biggest problem for me.
I'll realy work hard to make my goals this year. New Year! Let's start fresh!
